After what has been shown to have been a fun day of playing in the snow I was finally ready to go inside and warm up. Nice warm bed, nice warm hot chocolate (even though I'm not supposed to have chocolate right now)and a hot shower. Oh that's right we have no power. As I walk in I realize that if there is ever a real disaster I hope John is home because this is what I walked in and found.
John in the massage chair with the battery operated rabbit eared television tuned to the Nascar Race.

instead of this in the kitchen while preparing dinner

John carried his little battery operated television with him.

This was the only thing that John didn't try to fix because he hates the phone

but at least I had this so we could call the electric company to tell them we had no power.

No stove, oven or microwave -

no problems with this great butane stove

we had a yummy dinner. I even made hot chocolate later.

No lights

No problem candles in every room and glowsticks on every door.

No heat!

No problem we have this

and this.

Of course it wasn't that warm in the whole house

because this is the snow that was in Laura's pocket 5 hours later when due to school being cancelled she headed to her favorite place - next door to Grandma's.

It was a good thing the power finally came on because my battery was going dead from searching the internet to see if school had been cancelled, using it as a flashlight, texting all my friends out of state to tell them we had snow and of course calling the electric company every two hours to see if they were going to have our power on that night.

What! You lost power! You are so resourceful DIDI!!!

Why Clayfrog?

A long time ago (our future animal rights activist who was 3 at the time) found a family of frogs in the clay and decided that was a good name for us because we would save all the frogs.
