Alien's and Ice Cream

It seems that the last month of school is filled with so much. I don't know how we get it all done. I know I am certainly too busy to write about it but I don't want to forget it. I'll start with Mackenzie.

Mackenzie had an alien project for Science. It had to have a spaceship and be made from Junk around your house. She designed and made the entire project by herself. She also had to write a story about her alien.
Bobbie the Alien

She also had her chorus concert. She made it the whole year and is doing it again next year. It was a great program. 26 songs from 6 decades. It was so fun to hear her singing "I hear the Earth move under my Jeep". She finally got it right but I kinda like her version. They performed at Chik-fil-a, for PTO and then for the school. She even got a special award from the Chorus teacher.

She got her rainbow ribbon in band. She had all 8 of the other ribbons but just couldn't learn that last song. With only two days of school left she finally earned it.

She met Oliver. Oliver was so little when he was born he had to be fed with a dropper and since my mom can't stand to touch an animal he is with my sister until he is big enough to come home. He was the runt of the bunch. Somehow those are the ones Mackenzie likes best.

That happy smile is because she passed 4th grade and did really well on her CRCT's. We are so proud of you and the great job you did this year in school.

As I was walking into the school on the last day I saw the entire 4th grade walking up and down the bus loop. I was sad thinking they had gotten into trouble on the last day. I got a little closer and realized they were chanting. "I don't know but I've been told. 4th grades gettin' really old. Look out 5th grade here I come. But first I'll have some summer fun. " It was on to a great ice cream party with more sugar than we usually eat in a month! You can put a lot of ice cream and toppings in a Margarita Cup.
A couple of pictures with some friends
and then a long, sad goodbye to our favorite teacher ever.
Ms. Emerson we will miss you and wish you luck.
(Another sign of the economy.)

So long school! Hello summer!

Grandma and Mackenzie went for a walk this morning and came back to discover

a special surprise for doing so well in school this year.

She named them Chocolate and Vanilla.

Now onto Nicholas.

Great post Delores! Where do I start. That song about the "Jeep"? So funny!! I am so sad that Mrs. Emerson is leaving too!! I know she was an awesome teacher. Love the chickens. You know, my dream is to have a red barn with 2 horses, 1 cow, and some chickens. Mackenzie will love them.

Why Clayfrog?

A long time ago (our future animal rights activist who was 3 at the time) found a family of frogs in the clay and decided that was a good name for us because we would save all the frogs.
